Insurance for the Professional Scuba Diving Industry
Willis has discontinued its Recreational Scuba Diving Insurance Program (the “Dive Program”) effective August 20, 2014. The Dive Program is no longer accepting new applications for insurance and current policies will not be renewed when they expire other than as required by law or regulation. For clients currently insured in the Dive Program, we will continue to maintain coverage and service your needs until the expiry date shown on your policy.
We extend our thanks and appreciation to all the clients who have been with the Dive Program. If you are interested in finding alternate insurance providers, we suggest that you contact the various training agencies right away for their recommendations.
To report a new claim or to enquire about an existing claim, please contact one of our Claims Associates by sending an email, fax or calling as indicated below.
THE UNDERWATER INSTRUCTORS PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE IS A CLAIMS MADE INSURANCE FORM. Coverage under this insurance applies only to claims first made against the insured during the period of insurance. Notice of claims must be given immediately. Upon termination of this insurance, there is a maximum ninety (90) day reporting period. There is no coverage for incidents not reported by the end of the ninety (90) day reporting period.
When arranging insurance with another carrier, we recommend that you raise with them the possibility of obtaining a retroactive date that is the same as the one shown in your current policy, to ensure continuity of coverage.
